To all Ontario ParaSport Winter Games ParaNordic participants,
It is with great disappointment that we must inform you that the ParaNordic events that were scheduled to take place at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area in Kingston this weekend have had to be cancelled due to lack of snow. Based on an earlier meeting with a representative from the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area, Alan White of Cross Country Ontario, and representatives from ParaSport Ontario, the Sport Alliance of Ontario and the Games Organizing Committee, as there is no snow in sight in the coming days, all agreed that there was really no other choice but to cancel the ParaNordic Events for this coming weekend. The course conditions were deemed to be unsafe.
If you have made transportation arrangements by air, train, bus or rental vehicle, please cancel them as soon as possible. Rest assured that those who have been approved for external transportation will be refunded for any cancellation fee that you are required to pay. We would ask that you please request proof of cancellation when cancelling your transportation arrangements, and submit your proof of cancellation and costs to the Games Organizing Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org by February 25th, 2010. In addition, all those who have paid the $75 registration fee will receive a full refund through Cross Country Ontario.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this will cause, and are very disappointed that we will not have a chance to meet and get the opportunity to watch you compete. Until this weekend, we were confident that the conditions would be fine; however Mother Nature just wasn’t on our side this time.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Matt Rhodes, Marketing and Games Manager at ParaSport Ontario – (416) 426-7030 or email@example.com
We wish you all the best with your 2010 season.
