ParaSport® Ontario wishes Team Canada Good Luck at Paralympic Games

ParaSport Ontario Wishes Canadian Paralympic Team Good Luck!

Only a few days left before the Paralympic Winter Games get underway in Vancouver.  Lead by Chef de Mission Blair McIntosh and Assistant Chef de Mission Gaetan Tardif, 55 Paralympians will make up the Canadian team including 19 from Ontario.  ParaSport Ontario wishes all Canadian team members the very best of luck as they go for gold in both Vancouver and Whistler.

Two ParaSport Ontario banners signed by athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers who participated at the Ontario ParaSport Winter Games in Kingston recently, and well-wishers from the numerous Provincial Sport Organizations and Multi-Sport Organizations located within the Sport Alliance of Ontario have been sent to Vancouver to be posted in each of the athlete villages.

1350 Paralympic Athletes from 44 countries will be competing in five sports. The Para-Alpine Skiing, Biathlon and Para-Nordic Skiing competitions will be held in Whistler.  Sledge Hockey and Wheelchair Curling, sports where Canada is the defending champion, will be staged in Vancouver.
The opening ceremonies will be held at B.C. Place Stadium, the same facility where the Olympic opening and closing festivities were held. The closing will be staged in Whistler at the Whistler Medals Plaza.
