Ontarians dominate the 2017 Canada Summer Games

The 2017 Canada Summer Games have officially come to a close.

And to say that Team Ontario had shown up and performed would be an understatement. There were 25 total ParaSport events at the Canada Summer Games, and Team Ontario medalled in 23 of those events. In fact, Ontarians medalled a total of 25 times, including, 14 Gold, 5 Silver, and 6 Bronze. Our Para-Athletes did so well in fact that we accounted for 16% of Team Ontario’s Gold medal count, and 12% of their total Medal count. Our closest competition was Team British Columbia, who medalled 13 times. Giving Team Ontario a healthy 12-medal lead.

Congratulations to all our athletes who competed at the 2017 Canada Summer Games. Regardless of your placing, or ranking without your continued drive for excellence and passion for ParaSport, there would be no competitions to be had. Success is a decision made in practice. Continue to work, continue to grow, and we’ll see you at the next competition.
