Ron Foster was Chair of the Ontario Games for the Physically Disabled (OGPC) in 1985.  Mr. Foster became Chair of the Ontario Games Council and was a big supporter of ParaSport Ontario.  The award was created to honour all his volunteer work on behalf of ParaSport Ontario and the Ontario Games Program.

The RON FOSTER AWARD has been designed to recognize volunteers at the provincial level who have dedicated their time and energy towards the delivery of opportunities for athletes with a physical disability in sport and recreation.

•    The candidate must have continuously demonstrated LEADERSHIP at the provincial level by helping to develop opportunities for athletes with a disability.

•    The candidate must be a registered volunteer in good standing with either OALASA, OBSA, OCPSA OWSA or PO for ten years.

•    The candidate must receive full endorsement of the nominating organization’s Board of Directors.

•    PO’s Board of Directors welcomes nominations from the four PSOs.  Qualified nominees may include members of Boards of Directors, program volunteers and/or coaches.  Other considerations, in writing, will be entertained by the Selection Committee.
