Athletes with physical disabilities don't want your sympathy because they have disabilities; they want your admiration for their ability to be competitive in sport. Think it is tough to play hockey? Try doing it on a sled, having to use your arms not only to propel yourself but to carry and shoot as well. Think slalom looks difficult? Try hurtling yourself down that same hill at incredible speed -- without the benefit of arms or legs or vision. These athletes are very talented –developing to be the best in their chosen sport.
