Support Options

Through the financial support of individuals, groups and businesses, ParaSport Ontario attains excellence in our support and programming for developing and competitive athletes with disabilities.

There are a variety of ways that you can support the work of ParaSport Ontario. All gifts large and small make a difference. Your gift will be appreciated by athletes with disabilities of today and tomorrow.

How you can help

Cash

A one-time gift, monthly gift, or a gift pledge over multiple years. Donors receive a tax receipt for the full amount of the gift.

Gifts

Includes gifts of shares, bonds and mutual funds.

Tribute Gifts

Honour an individual by giving your gift in their memory or in their honour.

Bequests

Make provisions in your will by giving a specific item such as shares of stock, specifying a cash gift or by leaving a portion of your estate after all debts, taxes and other bequests have been paid. Your estate receives the full tax relief of your gift.

Life Insurance

Gifts of life insurance allow donors to turn a relatively small gift now into a large gift in the future. A new policy can assign ownership to ParaSport® Ontario, name ParaSport® Ontario as a beneficiary, or give a paid-up policy.

RRSP/RRIF

According to Revenue Canada, 100% of the remaining balance of any registered savings must be added to income in the year of death. By making a charitable contribution of an RRSP or RRIF, a donor could save considerable tax.

True Sport

ParaSport Ontario is a proud member of the true sport movement. We run our programs with the belief that sport can make a difference in the everyday lives of people and that those with physical disabilities should have the opportunity to access those benefits. Parasport Ontario strives to help people with physical disabilities experience the joy of sport. We have always recognized the importance of respect and fair play in sport and encourage all of our members to carry themselves with dignity both on and off the field of play. It is for these reasons and many more that we are proud to share the true sport principles with our members and partners!

True Sport Principles

Keep it Fun

Find the joy of sport and have a good time. Keep a positive and look to make a positive difference, on the field and in your community.

Respect For Others

Show respect for everyone involved in creating a sporting experience, both on the field and off. Win with dignity and lose with grace.

Give Back

Always remember the community that supports your sport and helps make it possible. Find ways to show your appreciation and help others get the most out of sport.

Play Fair

Play honestly and obey the rules, in letter and spirit. Winning is only meaningful when competition is fair.

Include Everyone

Share sport with others, regardless of creed, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or ability. Invite everyone into sport to make it more meaningful for the whole community.

Stay Healthy

Place physical and mental health above all other considerations and avoid unsafe activities. Respect your body and keep it in shape.

Go For It

Always strive for excellence and rise to the challenge, but never at the expense of others. Discover how good you can be.
