From The Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities
As Canada’s Minister responsible for Persons with Disabilities, I believe that our country’s diversity is our strength—and when we include people with disabilities, we create a stronger Canada for everyone. It is my pleasure to announce that launching this spring, for the first time in many years, an annual national week devoted to inclusion and accessibility.
Here at ParaSport Ontario, it’s our mission to support the development and promotion of the Paralympic movement in Ontario. It’s with that mission in mind that we constantly strive to promote parallel opportunities in sport for athletes with a physical disability. We do so through our Ontario ParaSport Games, our RWA – Ready, Willing and Able program, as well as our Equipment Rental program. These programs however could not be possible without the help and participation of our athletes, coaches and many volunteers who give up so much of their time for the love of sport.
As if we weren’t already excited enough for the upcoming and fast approaching, Evening for Inclusion.
After receiving a full endorsement from our great Mayor John Tory, we’re through the roof.
June 1st simply cannot come fast enough. The Evening for Inclusion is a concert/award ceremony in which we look to congratulate, celebrate and promote all the great work that is being done by our athletes, coaches and volunteers year round. We’re thrilled to have our ParaSport community come together for a night of music, fun and celebration of all that our community does for the love of sport. It’s going to be an exciting & memorable evening and we’re looking forward to sharing all the entertainment that we have in store with you.
