Ontario ParaSport Games
ParaSport® Ontario has played an integral role in the development of athletes with disabilities in Ontario through the establishment of a provincial multi-sport games program since 1975. The Ontario ParaSport Games welcomes Ontario’s best para-athletes to compete at the provincial level, and promotes awareness of parasport opportunities for all. The Ontario ParaSport Games also provides host communities with an opportunity to make their sport and recreation facilities barrier-free as a legacy for their citizens with disabilities.
The 2017 Ontario ParaSport Winter Games was hosted by Brantford and Brant County. The event is supported by the Ontario Government, through its Games Ontario program, and delivered by host municipalities in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport and ParaSport Ontario, as well as many community sponsors.
The Ontario ParaSport Games is supported by the Government of Ontario and delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports (MTCS). The Games promote public awareness of parasports and showcase Ontario’s best athletes. They provide host communities with an opportunity to make their communities more accessible and inclusive and to develop legacy funds.
The Games are planned and executed by a Games Organizing Committee proudly made up of members of the host community. They are also supported by hundreds of local volunteers and spectators who understand that when we all play, we all win.
During these exciting Games, more than 500 athletes, attendants, coaches, officials, as well as families and friends, will be welcomed at venues throughout Durham Region. We welcome these participants, from February 8 – 10, 2019.
