Paracanoe

Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joys of canoe and kayak. The sport of Paracanoe is based on sprint paddling with a few adaptations for persons with physical disabilities. The fact you don’t need to be able to run or walk makes Paracanoe an ideal sport for people with limited use of their lower body. We offer both recreational and competitive opportunities. Try different boats and discover which works best for you. A comprehensive safety orientation is part of all programs and all equipment is provided. Paracanoe made its debut at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and CanoeKayak Canada has been a leading force internationally in making the sport accessible to everyone.

Programs are offered at various clubs in Western Ontario:

Cobourg Canoe Club: cobourgdbcc.ca

Mississauga Canoe Club: mississaugacanoeclub.ca (Port Credit)

Balmy Beach Canoe Club: balmybeachcanoe.com (Toronto)

South Niagara Canoe Club: southniagaracanoeclub.wildapricot.org (Welland)
