Tyson became a para-athlete in 2017 after competing as an able-bodied swimmer throughout his childhood and teens. He was told by many people in school, that he would never amount to anything because of his intellectual disabilities. This fueled his desire to prove to everyone including himself, that he was deserving and capable of accomplishing anything he set his mind to. Tyson continues to train and compete at the national and international level representing Team Ontario and Canada.
Hello, I am Tyson. I am a current para-swimmer looking to achieve more personal goals in the sport at the current age of 25. One thing I hold near to me and want others to know is "you can achieve anything you set your mind to." This motto has helped me achieve so many wonderful things in life. I hope it can open doors of success to you too. My inbox is always open, feel free to reach out.
We acknowledge the land on which ParaSport® Ontario was built is the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit and the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, the Wendat, and the Haudenosaunee peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum agreement to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Today Toronto (also known as Tkaronto) is home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.
