ParaSport® Ontario. There is a sport for everyBODY!”

Yaw Korsah

It's Yaw's goal to be as active as possible as a para-athlete so he can encourage people with disabilities all over the world, especially in Africa and his country Ghana. He wants them to be inspired and believe that they can also be an athlete. Yaw has never let his disability stop him from doing what he believes in. He wants to achieve more things so that he can support people with disabilities and children who don't have families.
I am Yaw Korsah. I am 45 years old. I was born and raised in Ghana. I developed my disability at a very young age, which caused me to lose out on the opportunity to go to school. I joined the para-cycling team in 2008. And I've been continuing ever since. This sport has helped me a lot and has created many opportunities for me.

We acknowledge the land on which ParaSport® Ontario was built is the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit and the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, the Wendat, and the Haudenosaunee peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum agreement to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Today Toronto (also known as Tkaronto) is home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.
